Lou The image of Freda Kahlo is perfect for what we are doing. Marilyn Monroe is artwork, we want photos, so the original image of Marilyn would work but I would use Freda for now.
Just make sure you have the right resolution. Make a canvas in Photoshop that is designed for print that is 11"x17" and paste the scan into that window. If it is too small then you don't have enough resolution. Remember, this project is designing for print, much different than designing for online. By now, you should be separating the subject from the background and playing with the composition, and some of sex with layering in blending modes and posting this progress this week. Nice start.
This is the outline work of the lamp. For the second image, I was inspired by Turkish and middle eastern/Armenian culture and decided to use a tea pot pouring tea on the lamp. So the lamp would be the armudu which is the name if the slim-waisted tea glass such cultures use!
Here's my process so far in the project. I want to have a blue palette with some alien/wizard-like vibes. I might move the cars and put more woods or maybe the picture of my toasts.
